Community Matters Fund - Active Communities is now open for applications!

“We are delighted to launch the Active Communities fund, the latest phase of National Grid's Community Matters Fund, helping charitable organisations to empower their local communities to get active, stay fit, and deliver meaningful social change through exercise and sport.

The Active Communities fund aims to bring about positive change in economically disadvantaged areas and to target grassroots organisations that serve historically underrepresented and marginalised groups. Successful projects will need to meet one of the following themes:

• Working with marginalised or vulnerable groups.

• Positive life pathways for young people.

• Addressing mental health issues.

• Bringing diverse communities together.

• Improving physical health conditions.

National Grid provides electricity to eight million customers across the Midlands, South West England, and South Wales. Funding is available for registered charities, charitable companies, and unregistered community organisations based in these locations.”
