Wooden Spoon Society Grant (UK)
Summary
Schools, charities and community organisations can apply for grants for projects that improve the quality and prospect of life for children and young people who are disadvantaged physically, mentally or socially including those Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET). The grants available include capital projects such as medical treatment and recovery centres, sports and activity areas, sensory rooms and gardens, playgrounds and hydrotherapy pools as well as revenue grants to support outreach programmes for children in their communities.

Examples of Projects Funded
Shropshire Rebels Disability Tag Rugby Club recieved a 3-year donation of £5,000 to ensure that facilities and coaches are always available to enable members to keep playing.
Bobath Scotland has received £50,000 for Buildings & Extensions for its Therapy Suite project.
Rainbows Childrens Hospice in Leicestershire received £40,000 for its Soft Play Room.
Noah's Ark (Cardiff Royal Infirmary) received £250,000 for its Interactive Garden
More House School received a grant of £20,000 to equip a Junior Technology Room with a wide range of heavy duty work benches with integral work stations, saws, drills, milling machines and lathes.
