The difference between the Foundation and Volleyball England- a view from the membership.

Helen Britten from Darkstar described the difference

As I understand it the Volleyball England Foundation is the charitable arm of Volleyball England, and is run on a voluntary basis. VEF serves the volleyball community by keeping them up to date with things such as funding opportunities, relevant training courses and generally helps promote the sport, especially in communities and through funded community projects .

Volleyball England and Volleyball England Foundation have a shared purpose in the above areas, but Volleyball England are the NGB for volleyball and have a paid workforce who provide up to date government guidance and support to ensure clubs, players, coaches and officials, venues and spectators follow the regulations.

Thanks Helen.

Richard Osborne - Head Coach South Hants Sitting Volleyball Club describes the difference as

Volleyball England is the National Governing Body whose raison d'être is to spearhead volleyball growth in England, whereas the Foundation, which has charity status, exists to improve opportunities through volleyball to develop, educate and promote health of individuals and groups, including through financial support.

VE is like the car engine, while the Foundation is the oil that lubricates it.

A nice analogy - Thanks Richard.

Luke Thomas from Invicta Volleyball Club

Volleyball England is the National Governing Body, it represents the volleyball community at a national and international level and is concerned with policy making decisions that affect how our sport is managed and structured in England.

The Foundation is a charity with a remit to support the NGB and clubs in England to achieve their objectives. The Foundation raises, distributes and advises on sources of funding for volleyball clubs, coaches, officials and players.

 Thanks Luke.
