Adrian Stores steps down as the Volleyball England Foundation Board Vice Chair.

After two years as a key member of the Foundation Board and as the Vice Chair, Adrian has decided to step down. He commented: "It has been an enjoyable experience and I have worked with some committed volunteers over the two years to put the Foundation on a more solid footing. My decision is based around a feeling that the time was right to move on".

Although Adrian came to Volleyball later in life, he fell in love with the sport and looked for a local Volleyball club to join. None was to be found in his local area so he set one up.

So Stockport Volleyball Club was born and recently celebrated its 5th birthday. The club has grown steadily and is now one of the top clubs in the region. Much of the success of the club is down to the dedication and leadership from Adrian. He has made it clear that he might be leaving the Foundation but will continue to be the Chair and driving force of Stockport VC.

Simone Turner, chair of the Foundation said of Adrian β€œIt has been a pleasure having Adrian as my Vice Chair, he brought a huge amount of experience and energy to the Board. Over the last 2 years he has supported the Foundation in a number of ways, he dedicated the sales of the book he wrote to the Foundation, has done a sponsored cycle ride with his son and used his contact to support our Christmas Charity Auction to name a few. Meetings will seem very different without Adrian, we wish him all the best in the future,”

Janet Inman, Company Secretary said β€œ Adrian came to the Foundation when we needed his experience to help us understand how to build a sustainable charity, that was able to support our Volleyball community. His passion for Volleyball and sport is clear for all to see and we will miss him from our discussions. I know we will be able to call on him when we need his insight and support. My best wishes and thanks go with you and your family Adrian.”

The Board of the Foundation thank Adrian for his support and wish him all the best in the future.
