Buckinghamshire New University Volleyball Club
The students at Buckinghamshire New University Volleyball Club are keen to get back on court during the new academic year.
How have you stayed in touch with your students during lockdown?
Fergus Adams the University Activities Coordinator told us “We have been communicating with the students through email and Facebook, with the occasional post on other social media. As we are a students’ union we have students that fill our club committee roles, so our primary point of contact is via them. Our students are now heading to the end of the academic year at the beginning of June it has made some reluctant to play again before the end of term, not wanting to take the risk for the few weeks they have left at university. However, most are keen to play again.”
The University is lucky to have our own facilities, so booking and making sure the staff are round to support the sessions and clean up afterwards doe snot present any challenge. When the students return to court the University will be implementing the same COVID rules we had previously when sport was allowed at Universities before Christmas.
Fergus said “The students are definitely looking forward to training again, as Students’ Union staff we are maybe not looking forward to the mad rush getting them all back and active next term!”
