Newcastle Volleyball Club are being absolutely inundated with junior beginners at the moment, as well as some senior players of varying abilities!

They decided to continue training through the Summer months, seeing as everyone had missed volleyball so much but are now struggling to cope with demand.

One reason for the sudden attraction to our sport, is the Japanese tv programme Haikyu!! on Netflix. they are sure they cannot be the only club in the country with this ‘challenge’ ?

They have managed to get an additional booking at our venue for 2 hours on 2 courts, specifically for beginners and younger juniors.

Today they had 55 players of both sexes ranging in age from 7 - 18, as well as a few older beginners and are receiving several more signing up each week!

We can not see this demand stopping and our committee are desperately trying to work out what we can do with them all.
