20 years as chair of York Volleyball Club.

Tim Godson Chair of the Yorkshire Volleyball Association

  1. How were you first introduced to Volleyball?

Playing at a research station in Hertfordshire with lots of foreign students (where I met and played with my future wife)

2. What was the most difficult skill to master on court?

Always struggled with digging - not similar to other sports

3. What makes you most proud of our Volleyball Family?

Its a very inclusive game - mixed, different abilities and ages and with Sitting most people should be able to play

4. What was your greatest Volleyball achievement?

Difficult - bringing together new teams and being successful winning Cups and Leagues - or helping restart junior volleyball in Yorkshire and developing the U15 girls team from scratch over 3 years to finish 5th in the Inter-Regionals - (they would have gone further this year under their new coaches!) - or Chairing York Volleyball Club for 20 years - increasing from 3 to 7 teams, running juniors and becoming Club of the year - you choose!

5. What are you missing most during the lockdown?

Our summer recreational sessions - meet lots of new players - some of which stay with the sport

6. What are you looking forward to most once the lockdown is over?

Getting back to those sessions and meeting up with everyone

Thanks Tim
