Fireball at Cardiff beach will be hosting a single gender beach event on Saturday and a mixed event on Sunday.

There are not many spots left for the single gender events on Saturday (men's & women's pairs), but plenty for the mixed on Sunday.

The mixed is open to ALL levels, players will split into a plate and championship after pools. There are prizes for best Christmas costume and for the winners of both plate and championships.

The Southwest Series-A message from Fireball.

Welcome to Fireball Beach Volleyball’s Southwest Series! We are excited to bring you a series of events this summer and autumn at two venues: Croyde and Cardiff. We will be adding more dates as we go, depending on the covid situation and staff availability. All tournaments will have a maximum of 14 teams in attendance. Make sure you get your entries in early to guarantee your spot! Here’s what you’ll get:

• Pool Play followed by knockouts & play-offs

• Guaranteed 4 games per team

• Games start at 9am, finished before dark

• Prizes from Fireball Beach Volleyball and partner companies.

• Price: £35 per team.

Southwest Series: Lots to play for

New for 2020, we have launched our Fireball Southwest Series. We will be running events through to November across the Southwest, giving you a chance to play the sport we all love! As well as some awesome product prizes available at each stage of the competition, we are also offering a whopping £150 at the end of the series for the male and female player at the top of the rankings. Oh, and a load of Fireball goodies, too…

Each event in the Southwest Series will count towards the final standing. The points system is simple; at each event, there are 10 points available per team in the tournament. So winners of a 12 team event each get 120 points, 2nd get 110, 3rd get 100 and so on. As we are playing off for all places, each game at the tournament will mean something in the standings! We will be publishing updates on the rankings after every event. So make sure you get your entries in for the chance to win the jackpot! Here are the current rankings.

Format & Seedings

These events’ format will be determined by the teams that enter-there is no fixed format. What that means is that we will guarantee competitive games for you all day. You will be placed in pools of your level, so that the pools are as competitive as possible, and then, following the pools, you will play knockout rounds down to each individual position. This guarantees more games of a suitable level and means that each game means something-what’s not to like?!

Teams will be seeded roughly through experience and past results-if you would like to make a case for a particular seeding, give us an email at hello@fireballbeachvolleyball.com after you’ve entered with your experience and why you should be seeded somewhere.

Covid Regulations

• There will be maximum of 30 people allowed on the sand at any time through the day.

• Players must arrive & leave in playing gear; changing rooms will not be available.

• Social distancing to be maintained at all times when not playing.

• Anyone displaying symptoms in the run-up to the event are asked not to attend, and will be issued a full refund.
