Cardiff Beach planning to reopen.

Cardiff Beach.jpg

To all Players, Members and Friends of Cardiff Beach Volleyball Centre.

Cardiff Beach have been looking at how they can move forward coming out of lockdown that is the best and safest way for ALL involved and of course following all the guidelines and recommendations for all parties involved.

As you are all aware the Welsh government announced that outdoor sport centres were allowed to open once again, allowing for people from 2 separate house hold to play and train together when following social distancing guidelines. While this is totally possible when playing something like Singles in Tennis for example. It is not possible as you can imagine where beach volleyball is concerned.

However, they do not want to stop you all that have supported them during these hard and difficult times, but they MUST be seen to follow all the current guidelines. So they are going to do the following to ease their way back to opening the Beach Centre fully when guidance allow.

A court booking will be re-established –

a. You will have to be a member to use the court booking system

b. You will be allowed to book a court for a 2 hour period only per

group. (You may play on if not booked after your time finished or until such time as the following group turn up)

c. It is the outgoing groups responsibility to Rake the court, clean

all equipment used. Failure to do so will result in further booking being disallowed.

d. Groups will comprise (as it stands at the moment) 2 separate households.

i. IE: 2 from same household and a coach will be permitted.

ii. IE: 2 single people from 2 households can train together.

iii. IE; A single person can book a court to train by themselves

iv. ALL contact details (of ALL players) must be in the

booking of the court for track & Trace.

v. NO mixing of groups or courts is permitted.

Remembering that they are viewed by the public in a public park, and any none-compliance to guidelines can be reported against them with a potential £10.000 fine to yourself and the Club for breaking the rules.

Cardiff beach know all the above seems to be a lot, but it must be the way forward.

And on a more positive notes. With the easing of regulations they will change what is allowed as soon as changes are allowed. They are even planning on running a small opening competition at Easter as they are fairly confident things will have improved by then.

They have also made the decision that they will not be increasing the membership fees for 2021, as it has not only been difficult for use as a club but also for all their members, so a BIG THANK YOU goes out to all those that have shown their support over the past year.

And can they please assure you that in the background we are putting plans together that will see :

A lot more local competitions

Training sessions

Beach Camps

UKBT events

Junior sessions

Like all of you the club are keen on getting the beach Centre Open again and making 2021 a year to remember for Beach Volleyball at Cardiff Beach Volleyball Centre.
