A B C - Great job Dee.

Here is another Games Maker from London 2012 who is also now a volunteer at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham - Dee Wauchope.

During London 2012 Dee was in the Field of Play Team Lead at Earl’s Court for the Indoor Volleyball. She was responsible for one of three teams of ball retrievers, moppers and quick moppers.

Dee enjoyed the buzz in London, particularly in the venue and with her Games Maker team mates, the other volunteers and the athletes. “We were in a bubble of positivity and everyone seemed to be having a great time - even the folks on the tube would have a chat with you when you were in uniform - very unusual for London” said Dee.

Dee felt that being a Games Maker was such an incredible experience. She had a seat at the court manager’s table just behind the team bench and got to see some amazing volleyball up close and be part of helping deliver the ‘greatest show on earth’.

Dee is still connected, through volleyball. to a number of people. Some of the volunteers who were all quite young at the time are still in contact through Facebook although we don’t socialise or anything.

Dee continues to be a volleyball event volunteer, she is currently working as an International Federation Services Team Lead at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games what a fantastic experience.

Thanks for all you do Dee - the volleyball family really appreciate it, enjoy the CWG.
