Firstly all at the Volleyball England Foundation would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.

i’m sure, like us you are glad to see the back of 2020 and that we all have high hopes for 2021.

Let’s hope the roll out of the vaccine means we will have a 2021/22 season and that, not just volleyball, but life gets back to some semblance of normality - whatever the “new normal” looks like.

The Foundation have used 2020 to build its infrastructure, working on the website, social media and looking for funding, developing a closer working relationship with Volleyball England as they roll out their new strategy and generally supporting our volleyball community.

In the next couple of weeks we will announce the recipients of our first round of funding to develop more sitting volleyball sections in our clubs. Don’t worry of this is something you wanted to do, we will be opening a second round of the sitting funding in the spring.

The Foundation have already started to map out their priorities for 2021 and beyond.

We will be recruiting new members to our Board - we will be looking for people with an ability to help us secure more funding and increase our media presence.

We will be launching our Ambassador programme - developing a network of people who share our aims and objectives and who will support the work of the Foundation, these will be supported by our recently approve Volunteer Strategy.

We will relaunch our Legacy programme - working with a number of solicitors firms around the country.

We hope to be able to develop an events programme where we can raise funds and the profile of the Foundation and the work we are doing.

In partnership with Volleyball England we will identify other areas of the game that need additional support from the Foundation.

We will be developing our commercial strategy, looking at how to continue developing relationships with partners, potential sponsors and how to bring in additional funding through advertising etc.

A very busy year for the Foundation.

HOW CAN YOU HELP

The Foundation strives to generate the kind of financial support that will:

  • allow the sport to fully develop at the grassroots level

  • make opportunities available to those who would otherwise not have access to the sport

  • provide support to aspiring athletes at all levels, regardless of geographic location or economic status

  • offer grant opportunities to teams, clubs and regions across the country

  • endow positions at the elite level to ensure that Volleyball England remains competitive with the best in the world

  • foster the prospect of building volleyball-only facilities where communities, clubs, schools and Volleyball England Foundation affiliated organisations can train year-round on home soil.

These kinds of aspirations to expand programming and thrive in your community and on the international stage for years to come will only happen with long-term investment.

In continuing to grow the corpus of the Foundation, these goals will become reality.

Together, with your generous support, we can accomplish great things!
