Messages from Volleyball England
Volleyball England has launched a player survey to gather information on the largest segment of the volleyball community.
Whether they play at a recreational, club or international level, players from across the country are encouraged to complete the survey and share it with fellow players to help the National Governing Body gather as much data as possible.
As an incentive, the club that is associated to the most player responses will win an outdoor net system. Please click here to fill out the survey and help us to collect more data by sharing the link. The deadline for responses is midday on Wednesday, 21st October.
The player survey follows on from our recently launched 10-year strategy, The Game Plan. Better data and insights are a key pillar of the new strategy, and this new information – combined with existing records from the membership portal VolleyZone – will help the sports body to better understand the wants and needs of the community.
Annual Awards - tonight
Tune in tonight at 7pm on the Volleyball England Facebook page, compère Clayton Lucas will be taking our Annual Awards ceremony online to applaud the work of coaches, officials and volunteers.
We’ll have special honours for volleyball volunteers who have made a sizeable impact on volleyball in England and we’ll reveal our ‘Club of the Year’, a category that has kindly been sponsored by Huck Nets for 2020.
How can I watch the Annual Awards?
Grab a drink, make yourself comfy and be prepared to clap and shout as we broadcast each day’s ceremony at 7pm from the Volleyball England Facebook page. The schedule and shortlists are as follows:
Tonight
Young Official of the Year: Charlotte Bontems (Tendring); Cas Vanbrabant (Loughborough Students); Ellie Kim (Ashcombe)
Referee of the Year: Anna Justkowska (Inter Volleyball, Spelthorne); Lenny Barry (Cheshire West, Chester); Phil Cobb (Loughborough Students)
Good luck everyone.
Volleyball England's 2020 AGM will be held on Saturday, 26th September.
For the first time in the organisation's history, the meeting will take place online because of restrictions on gatherings.
While it is disappointing not to be able to meet in person, hosting the AGM online makes it easier for people to tune in and hear directly from the Board.
Beginning at 10am, the AGM will provide members with the opportunity to find out about changes over the last year as well as plans for the months ahead. It will also give them the chance to have their voices heard by the Board.
How to join
Our AGM will be broadcast via Microsoft Teams and is open for anyone to attend. Use the following link on Saturday, 26th September to join: https://bit.ly/2YRMdkp
If you intend to watch the AGM, you are advised to download the Microsoft Teams app onto your computer, tablet or mobile phone ahead of time and to test the link included above to see if you can enter the waiting lobby.
Meeting protocol will be explained at the start of the event.
If you have any questions about or for the AGM, or need some help tuning in, please email governance@volleyballengland.org.
