The Big Club Conversation- 8th September, 7-9pm

Sport England is currently developing its next strategy which will take effect from 2021. As part of the Strategy consultation, in partnership with Sport England's Clubs team we are inviting you to come and take part in 'The Big Club Conversation'.

Earlier this year, Sport England's first phase of consultation identified some 'big issues' which we are likely to see a focus on going forwards. Through the Big Club Conversation, we'd love to hear your views on what they mean for clubs and community groups.

• Tackling inequality – what does this mean for community clubs and groups and what's the role they can play.

• Digital resources and use of technology – what role does it play in delivering community sport, what help/support might you need?

• Workforce – the people who make sport and physical activity happen.

• Diminishing local resources - people, places, funding etc.

We'd love you to join in the discussion and share some of the great things you are already doing around these issues. But we are also keen to hear what challenges you have, where you think you need support and how things might need to work differently to support you.

Club Matters: Planning for your Future (Business Planning) (online)- 6th October, 7-9pm

By the end of this workshop, delegates will be able to:

• Understand what constitutes a business plan, its value, function and who should be involved in the process.

• Begin developing a business plan using a simple framework

• Describe how to structure an effective business plan to meet the needs of their club

• Understand how to access further information to support business planning

The workshop will:

• describe how a club welfare officer works with others to create a child centered environment

• explain how the club welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment

• apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice

• You will be required to bring a copy of your reporting procedures.

It is mandatory that you have previously attended and have a valid Safeguarding and Protecting Children Certificate.
