Pride Month - Launch of our LGBTQ+ project.

Every year, during the month of June, the LGBT community celebrates in a number of different ways. Across the globe, various events are held during this special month as a way of recognising the influence LGBT people have had around the world.

As well as being a month long celebration, Pride month is also an opportunity to raise awareness of current issues facing the community.

Pride Month is so important because it marks the start of huge change within the LGBTQ+ community and for volleyball particularly as we have secured funding through the Sport England Inclusion and Diversity fund to carry out some research and develop training to support our LGBTQ+ community. Volleyball prides itself on being open and inclusive, we support anyone wanting to play no matter what their social, financial, ethnic, religious and sexual background. This project will help clubs become even more inclusive, help them to understand the needs of new and existing LGBTQ+ members. For individuals from outside the LGBTQ+ community, we want their experience of volleyball to be warm and welcoming. More information about the project will be available shortly. #Pride2022
