Return to Play grants from Sport England top £70,000
Over the last few weeks the Volleyball England Foundation has been supporting clubs to apply for Sport England Return to Play grants.
The process for applying for this grant is one of the most straight forward Sport England have ever had and its great to see that Volleyball are receiving funding to support their return to court, not just through the Foundation, but many clubs have been successful applying by themselves, Wessex, Sheffield and Coventry and Warwick Riga to name a few.
The Foundation have supported 11 applications, these range from individual clubs such as Bristol Spikers, Tettenhall Tigers and Stourbridge VC to block applications on behalf of Sitting Volleyball, East Midlands, Yorkshire, Bristol and District, Northern Counties and Hull and East Riding Volleyball Associations.
The funding will support over 70 clubs around the country, providing equipment to ensure participants can train and play in a clean and safe environment and support staff will be protected. Other items that have been secured through the grant include outdoor nets, additional balls and ball carts to ensure player and their equipment can be contain inside their playing bubble.
Currently the amount secured for clubs across the country is over £70,000.
The Return to Play funding pot is due to close at the of 2021 - if you would like to put in an application before then and would like our help please send an email to foundation@volleyballengland.org
