“We’re taking a moment to reflect on the 2024 season, the progress we’ve made and, more importantly, focus on what’s ahead for 2025”…We caught up with the Bello Brother’s ahead of a busy year!
“As we wrapped up another year (our 7th) on the World/Beach Pro Tour, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the 2024 season, the progress we’ve made and, more importantly, focus on what’s ahead for 2025.
This past year was our most demanding season to date and, despite not qualifying for the Paris Olympics, it has been full of milestones and breakthrough performances which have claimed us a place among the world’s best teams.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the season was the Elite16 event in Brazil, not only because of the gold medal we brought home, but because of what it meant for our team and so many people who form part of our journey. It was always our dream to play matches like that final… in Copacabana, against some of the teams we admire, giving everything on the court and feeling all the support of our family and our people around the world.
2024 was also the year when we won our 8th medal on the tour. It was the year when we played the most tournaments (15), travelled 200.000 kms, when we were awarded a wild card to play the Tour finals… and the year when Joaquin graduated as a Doctor at Imperial College London.
We are now starting the season at 15th place on the world ranking and ready to take the next step in our journey.
We have started our preseason training in sunny Spain over a month ago, in the fantastic facilities of Higuerón resort in Malaga. Our attention is on improving all aspects of our game and making adjustments to our strength and conditioning preparation. We still have so much to work on, which fuels our motivation every day.
LA 2028 is still a long time away, but we are already focusing on our first step along the way. We are looking forward to qualifying for our third straight European Championship (July, Germany) and our first World Championship (November, Australia), all while continuing to compete on the Beach Pro Tour, consolidating our position and climbing the rankings.
As always, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our family and support network around the world, so we want to say a big thank you once again for allowing us to keep dreaming.
Here’s to another year of growth, competition, and pushing the limits of British beach volleyball.
See you on the sand in 2025!”
Wow, what a year Javier & Joaquin had in 2024!
We are SO excited to follow the boys on their journey, in what looks to be another fantastic year.
