Growing support for the work of the Foundation
The Volleyball England Foundation exists to support those wanting to play volleyball, but finding barriers in their way.
For some it is a financial barrier, the cost to play restricts access, for some its the opportunity to play. In all cases the Foundation is looking for ways to remove these and other barriers that prevent individuals enjoying the sport of volleyball.
Here are some examples where the Foundation has supported by increasing the opportunity through the development of the network of accessible sitting volleyball teams, our mission is to have a network of teams where anyone can play this inclusive activity. The Aston Villa project, being delivered in partnership with the Aston Villa Football Foundation will give 100’s of young people from hard to reach groups the opportunity to experience volleyball for the first time. The support given to clubs to help ‘Return to Play’ and cater for the increased demand on juniors coming to the sport following the pandemic.
The Foundation is a small piece of the volleyball puzzle, BUT the value to the Foundation is now being recognised and reflected back by our volleyball community. In the last few weeks a number of clubs and event have held a fundraising activity for the Foundation. The All Nations Volleyball Competition, Wapping Wildcats, Ashcombe Outdoor tournament, Masters Volleyball and on the 16th of July Nottingham Volley Fest will be holding a raffle to support the Foundation and another local charity Belong Nottingham.
The Foundation has no paid staff and we keep our running cost to a minimum so all the funding we receive goes back into meeting our charitable objectives of giving more people an opportunity to access the amazing sport.
The Foundation are always grateful for any support, if you are holding an event and would like to support the Foundation please let us know foundation@volleyballengland.org
