Another scorching weekend of volleyball,
SideOut hosted their 3rd tournament of their Summer Series at Leyton Beach on Sunday - which was also the hottest day of the year so far!
They witnessed some epic battles and heroic performances in the blazing sunshine and the hot sand by every single player involved. Well done to all of you and congratulations to the winners!
SideOut Summer Series (UKBT 3*) - Leyton
In the women's tournament, Jana and Kanako took home their first SideOut gold medal after a dominant tournament in which they never dropped more than 10 points in any set! Kasia and Mika, who came into the tournament seeded 8th and were in their first SideOut final together, fought very hard but were ultimately outplayed in the final by Jana and Kanako.

Gold medal match: 2-0 (15-5, 15-7)
Meanwhile, in the men's tournament, Arthur Guasti and Marcin Konpa were up against the Czech pairing of Martin Alfonso and David Novotny. Martin and David led for most of the match and had a couple of match points in the 2nd set, but Marcin and Arthur kept their eyes on the prize and came back to claim a dramatic 2-1 win after a truly epic match that lasted over 1 hour and produced some fantastic rallies!
