Manchester Marvels planning to return to court and develop their sitting programme.

Over the last few weeks we have seen the opportunities to play volleyball opening up again, both outdoor and now inside.

One of the clubs that received support from the Foundation to establish a sitting programme in their club was Manchester Marvels.

The Chairman of Manchester Marvels, Tom Atkinson, has been in touch to outline, not only his plans for sitting but also, how the club is going to be re-energised over the next few weeks.

“Our mission as a club is to provide the opportunity for everyone in Greater Manchester to play volleyball.” said Tom “We are delighted that the Volleyball England Foundation has given us the opportunity to add sitting volleyball to our Club's programme; it is a massive step towards our mission as a club. Sitting volleyball is part of our Open volleyball project. Open volleyball is open and accessible to all. We offer pay-as-you-go sessions, as well as open membership. Open membership gives access to multiple volleyball sessions, both sitting volleyball and indoor volleyball; members also get perks and discounts such as club events, kit, and more.”

Tom explained how the club is working in partnership with others in Manchester “We are partnering with Manchester Metropolitan University volleyball club to deliver sitting volleyball. Volunteers from the university are helping us to deliver these sessions and we are working with their committee to also introduce sitting volleyball at the university.”
