Volleyball England Foundation attend the National Finals
The Foundation have been talking about the work they do at the National Finals at Kettering this weekend.
For the first time, the Foundation were out in force and doing a bucket collection to support their developing young volunteers campaign.
It was great to talk to many of the parents and grand parents of players in the junior finals. The grandfather of one of the Newcastle Staffs players was delighted to be able to watch his grandson compete at the National Volleyball Centre ‘ We have watched him play in local league then into NVL, we have travelled all over the country to watch him play and are so proud of him taking part in the National Finals here today. Its an amazing sport that has embraced everyone that comes into contact with it, no matter what age or if you are a player or like us here to watch.’
Over the weekend the Foundation moved with the times and used a contactless card reader to take donations. ‘Since the pandemic not many people carry cash so we had to move with the times and purchase a card reader’ said Company Secretary Janet Inman. ‘ When people come over and say sorry don’t have cash we smile and say we will take a card donation - no escape'.’
We would like to thank everyone who donated over the weekend, the contributions will be added to the funding from the charity auction and our JustGiving Page to support the development of young people as volunteers.
Once again thank you for supporting the Foundation.
